abacus3.0 the next generation abacus, designed for 2.5 to 5yrs, is integrated with a comprehensive learning system (including: dice from 1 to 10, place value 10-tag, card game, pupil's playbook, parent's/teacher's clear and step-by-step guidelines), to provide tools for laying a firm and complete foundation in math and reasoning. abacus3 utilizes Jerome Bruner's constructionist CPA approach adopted by Singapore schools for math teaching. abacus3.0 and the 10-tag provide the concrete stage introduction to counting, numbers, number bonds, 10-bonds, place value, simple addition and subtraction, re-grouping. The pupil's playbook transitions the learnings through the pictorial stage with activities and written exercises, leading to abstract stage operations and problems. The dice and card game provide fun ways for practice and enhancing rapid recall and proficiency. abacus3.0 is also suitable for remedial or jump-starting math at the early elementary grades, for pupils whose math understanding and/or performance are affected by covid-19 lock-downs.
